Cascina Barban

Cascina Barban is led by a collective of four people who have successfully recovered the last historic vineyards of Val Borbera. Today, alongside these vineyards, with vines ranging from 50 to 70 years old, there are around 4 hectares of new vineyards planted in areas of Val Borbera that have historically been suited to viticulture. Cascina Barban embraces biodiversity over monoculture, both in the composition of the vineyards, where different varieties planted together strengthen and support one another through challenging moments, and in the production of their wines, where the grapes are co-fermented to enhance the wine’s aromatic complexity. This philosophy gives rise to wines that are not uniform, but always intriguing, and that year after year tell the natural journey experienced by the plants and the grapes.
