Together with Patrick Meyer, Jean-Pierre Frick, and Christian Binner, Bruno Schueller played a key role in changing the history of Alsace wine production in the late 1990s. Their insights and pioneering approach gave rise to a movement that challenged the established practices of a region whose wine production had become increasingly focused on standardization and large-scale producers. Bruno lives in Husseren-les-Châteaux, the highest village on the western slopes of Colmar, where he owns several small parcels, including two Riesling vineyards in the prestigious Grand Cru sites of Eichberg and Pfersigberg. His vineyards produce very low yields; no sulphites are ever added to his wines, and the influence of oxygen is welcomed during vinification. His wines are always vibrant and surprising.
