Jérôme Lambert was born in Rablay-sur-Layon, a small village in southern Anjou, where he now produces his wines. He owns 4 hectares of vineyards, one of which is planted with 50-year-old Chenin Blanc vines on schist soils. The remaining plots consist of lighter, sandy soils planted with Grolleau, Gamay and Cabernet Franc. The old Chenin vines are harvested three times to obtain wines with different levels of ripeness. No additives are used, as Jérôme believes that even new oak should be considered an additive, since it alters the wine’s taste profile. Jérôme’s distinctive touch can be felt in all the cuvées he produces: the Chenin Blanc finds a noble and refined expression, while the reds are marked by freshness and drinkability.
