Nicoletta, originally from Sardinia, and Francesco, a native of Pantelleria, founded their winery in 2016. Growing vines on the island is anything but easy: three hectares of vineyards scattered across Pantelleria’s different contrade (districts), vines trained in the traditional Alberello Pantesco system, so low to the ground that every task must be carried out entirely by hand, and an arid climate on an island with no natural freshwater resources, where viticulture relies on the ancient concas technique—circular basins dug around each vine to capture and retain precious rainwater. While Zibibbo is the signature grape, the true protagonist is Pantelleria itself: a mosaic of soils, exposures, and microclimates that Nicoletta and Francesco interpret with respect, allowing each individual vineyard parcel to express its own distinctive identity.
